The surface patterns take advantage of the laser’s ability to accurately, swiftly and without complaint execute houndreds of thousands of commands. The surfaces, being laser-etched in the mold, are both visual and tactile.

The laser cutter is a diligent, careful (if a bit thick-headed) binary assistant. It will tirelessly executes the most tedious, accurate and exhausting tasks, sometimes hundreds of thousands of commands long. I often find myself consturcting challenges for the CPU and the laser cutter, packing repetitive details to see when the systems will fail and crash.
